Epon Forged AF-701 (16865 views/week)
Epon Golf introduces it's all new design, the AF-701 iron. Made for the golfer looking for a forgiving iron providing maximum distance, the AF-701 provides game improvement like ease and performance in a mid sized cavity back. Still possessing a relatively thin topline and small offset, the AF-701 is precision forged from soft S20C steel with a high strength AsRoll Stainless steel face featuring COR over 0.8.
The thin face produces high ball speeds and allows weight to be distributed to the toe and heel to provide a wider sweet spot and lower center of gravity. The center of gravity is further helped by two tungsten weights placed in the sole towards the toe and heel. The forgiving undercut design and stronger lofts will help golfers of all levels reach longer distances even on off center hits. Grow your game with the Epon AF-701 iron. Standard steel shafts are from Nippon, Shimada and True Temper Dynamic Gold.
All Epon irons are customizable as follows:
- Upgrade steel and graphite shafts.
- Custom length, loft and lie.
Custom finishes and sole engraving are also available on special request.

IF you are looking to get the ball high up in the air and straight as an arrow, this is the club to buy. Forgiveness is very high even on miss hit shots and the ball tends to fly straight with a loss of distance but straight to the aimed point. I do hear the click sound that the epon makes but only on creamed shots. If you are someone who likes to tee it up high, there isnt any sounds since the click only comes from the bottom centre sweet spot. the only thing which i wasnt too happy wiht was the fact that shaping shots is a bit of a problem with this club so now am thinking about the AF301's since they seem more playable and shapable. overall 10/10 for looks, feel, forgiveness. this is by far the ultimate High Handicaper's club. BUY EM!!!

Simply the best mid sized forged iron coming out of Japan if you are looking for forgiveness and performance. Not overly large, this head can suit even the low handicapper wanting to add some distance and forgiveness to their game. For the mid to higher handicapper it's an iron that a player can definitely play to bring their score down.
The soft S20C body and asroll face make for a nice feel at impact. Some people have said the AF-701 has more of a click to it because of its undercut cavity but if it does it is very subtle. The undercut itself is super forgiving and there is very minimal loss of distance and direction of off center hits.
The AF-701 excels with graphite shafts. I've played the AF-701 with Tour AD, Axiv and Mach Line and they are all great options providing smooth feel and lightweight performance.
I have access to many different irons and test and try all brands and models. The AF-701 is still firmly in the bag because it simply performs and feels great.
