Mizuno MP-68 Forged Irons (20124 views/week)
The new MP-68 irons with 3D Muscle Technology are the next generation of muscleback irons. The innovative 3D muscle is the result of extensive computer optimization to deliver the ideal COG location that is lower and more face centered providing a penetrating and workable ball flight for complete shot control. The MP-68 irons also have a Tour Confirmed sole shape that ensures the appropriate amount of turf interaction for pure ball striking. Mizuno's Grain Flow Forging process ensures that the MP-68s provide the best feel and ball control in the game of golf.

Let get the first thing out of the way. This is the finest iron that I have ever hit. To strike the ball in the center of the club face offers such pleasure. Wow, these are sweet and solid.
My background was a club pro for a few summers. I was a plus handicap at that time and a Titleist club pro. I had used the MB 690 for about 8 yrs. Love those irons. Light but solid. I didn't have much of an issue with distance loss on slight mishits.
A few years ago I tried a friends MP 32s with the "cut muscle" and liked the feeling. It planted the seed to look into Mizuno when it was time to iron shop. Last spring it was time. I didn't look around too much. I noticed some of the differences between the MP 67 and 68. I like the changes. I also tried the MP 58. But the feel of the muscleback is so much different, sweeter and more solid.
My distances are precise, I can put a little more in and squeeze a few more yards out of the club. Shaping and controlling trajectory is relatively simple. My mishits have some distance inconsistency, but still fly reasonably straight.
I thought anyone could hit them. Then I let a few people on the range swing them and I quickly found out that I was incorrect. One friend is a 9 hcp, and he struggled. They sounded clunky for him. Another friend who is a 15, couldn't hit them well at all. Inconsistent distance and direction.
Conclusion: They are the best forged clubs that I have ever played. In the hands of a mid-single digit and below they are exquisite tools. Above that, they can be problematic. However, I believe a 14 hcp or below can be benefited by playing these. Sound and feel feedback is immediate and potentially gratifying. I love these sticks. And other players look at them with envy.

I have had several Mizuno Mp/Tp/ and MS irons. The MP 68's are one of the best. They are a little tough to hit at first, but they help groove your swing to more solid hits. Easy workability and shot shaping. I play in West Texas, so wind is always a factor. The MP 68's allow me to play full down wind shots and allow knockdown shots into the wind with great control. I highly recommend and they will improve your game

So far I love the MP 68 forged irons. They are at times hard to hit BUT they make you have the same swing over and over so through out time your swing becomes better.. I would recomend them to Handicap's 0-13, and make sure you can stike the ball good 7 or 8 times out of 10.
